Niko Hiep (1933) beschikt door zijn vroegere beroep als art director over een brede ervaring in het visualiseren, schetsen en tekenen van uiteenlopende onderwerpen. Tijdens de uitoefening van zijn vak ontdekte hij de charme van het vrije werk: tekeningen en aquarellen, die landschappen, stads- en dorpsgezichten etc. tot onderwerp hebben. Hij vindt inspiratie in zijn woongebied den Haag en wijde omgeving en in Frankrijk, met name de Périgord. Maar ook bepaalde locaties in bijv. Italië en Spanje zijn favoriet. Gemaakte schetsen, foto’s en kleurnotities vormen de basis voor verdere uitwerking in het atelier, meestal in waterverftechnieken, in een naturalistische stijl. Niko Hiep werkt ook in opdracht. Thanks to his former profession as an art director, Niko Hiep (1933) disposes of a large experience in visualising, sketching and drawing of a diversity of subjects. While practising his job he discovered the charm of working ‘independently’: making drawings and watercolours of landscapes, town- and village views. He finds inspiration in his residence The Hague and surroundings as well as in France, particulary in the Périgord, whereas certain locations in Italy and Spain are also favourite. Sketches, photographs and colour indications form the basis for further development in the studio, usually in watercolour techniques, in a naturalistic style. Niko Hiep also works on commission. Niko Hiep (1933) a travaillé durant des années comme directeur artistique. Grâce à cela, il a une grande expérience en ce qui concerne la visualisation, le croquis et le dessin de sujets différents. Pendant l’exercice de son métier il a découvert le charme de l’œuvre ‘libre’: dessins et aquarelles de paysages naturels, urbains ou ruraux. Il trouve son inspiration à son domicile à La Haye et dans les environs (Pays Bas), ainsi qu’en France, notamment en Périgord. Mais il a aussi des sites favoris en Italie et en Espagne. Les croquis, photos et notes de couleur pris sur place, sont la base pour l’oeuvre finale, réalisée en majorité avec des techniques d’aquarelle et un style naturaliste, dans son atelier.
